Location : The course takes place in person at Aardman – Gas Ferry Road, Bristol.
Are you passionate about animation? Are you an autistic young adult finding it difficult to get into the industry? Do you want to meet the fantastic teams of FlyCheese and Aardman Studios? During our FREE 2-day workshop on 14th and 15th November 2023, participants will engage in activities with armatures, puppets and animation. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet industry professionals and present their portfolios.

What will I be doing?
Course structure: Day 1: Arrival & welcome. Tour of the building & Studio (subject to conditions such as confidentiality) Break Practical activities Lunch break Practical activities Break Activity: The importance of networking and overcoming barriers Meet & Greet with Aardman professionals End of Day 1 Day 2: Practical activities Lunch break Practical activities Break Activity: What does a good portfolio looks like? Who is this opportunity suitable for?
This course is ideal for young adults aged between 18 and 35 years old who are autistic and have a passion for animation.
What age is this suitable for?
Education & skill required?
You do need to have some experience to attend this workshop, even if your experience is from self-teaching as there will be networking and portfolio sharing opportunities. We want to open doors to people who might not have had such opportunities. The course is led by industry professionals from Aardman and Flycheese.

Start date and time
14th and 15th November. Hours are 9.45am-5pm with a lunchbreak at 12.30 and various comforts breaks throughout the day. An accessibility handbook is available. Each participant will get 1-1 (online) time before the start of the course to discuss needs and desired outcomes, with Pauline Mallam (EDI Manager).
