What will I be doing?
You will take part in a course to help you learn about working with young children aged 0 to 5 years. You will find out how children grow, learn and play. You will learn how to keep children safe and how to support their rights. You will practise ways to talk and listen to young children. You will also explore stories and rhymes that are good for this age group. The course will help you build skills and knowledge for a job in childcare. You will work towards a Level 1 Award in Caring for Children.
Who is this opportunity suitable for?
This course is for adults aged 19 and over who want to work with young children. It’s a good choice if you enjoy helping children learn and grow, and want to start a career in childcare.

Education & skill required?
You don’t need any qualifications to join this course. You just need an interest in working with young children and a willingness to learn.
Who will be there?
You will meet a friendly tutor who will guide you through the course. You will also be with other adults who want to learn about working with young children. Staff will be there to support you in a safe and welcoming space.
Start date and time
Starting on Thursday 18th September from 9.30am to 12noon and every Thursday until 29th January 2026.
