Introduction:
Project Pilot is a Supported Internship in Bristol run by Sixteen Co-operative Ltd and Bristol City Council that aims to support young people aged 18-24 with learning disabilities or autism, who do not have an EHCP, into paid work.
The 15-month programme will start in September 2026 and comprise of:
• Formal education with a blend of base-room and supported work-place learning
• Up to three supported work placements
• Support to find and apply for jobs
• In-work support to both employee and employer

What will I be doing?
We are looking for participants who:
• Are aged 18-24
• Are keen to find paid work, have a basic understanding of what work is, and/or have previous experience of work or work experience
• Have SEND and complex support requirements
• Are or have been NEET/Risk of NEET – SEMH or leaving Alternative Provision
• Are living in the Bristol area with the ability to travel and a willingness to learn new routes
• Are willing to attend base-room group learning one day a week
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Have parents/carers who share their aspirations and are willing to provide support
• Do not currently have an Educational Health Care Plan
• Have not participated on a previous internship or traineeship

About the organisation
Who we are
Sixteen is a social enterprise set up in 2011 to bring evidence based supported employment services to people with a learning disability interested in finding paid employment. Our aim is to create a sustainable financial model that delivers high quality job coaching and supports the majority of people into paid employment of over 16 hours. The organisation employs a number of full time, part time, seconded and self employed job coaches led by practitioners with significant experience in the field. Programmes are running in the Bristol and South Glos areas although Sixteen is looking to support Job Coaching in other areas.
