FareChance Employability Programme

This programme offers hands-on work experience within a working food warehouse, designed to empower young people to become more employable and confident.
Limited to 10 participants — referrals will be considered on a first-come, first-reviewed basis

What will I be doing?
Programme Includes:
• Hands-on warehouse logistics training — including picking, packing, stock control, and food safety
• Weekly group sessions focusing on teamwork, confidence-building, and workplace expectations
• CV and interview skills support
• A Career Away Day to explore different industries and roles
• 1:1 mentoring and progress reviews
Participants Gain:
• Practical skills relevant to warehousing, logistics, and retail
• Improved confidence and readiness for work
• A contribution to reducing food waste and supporting communities across the Southwest
Taster Sessions:
Selected applicants will be invited to taster sessions throughout August, giving them the chance to meet the team, explore the warehouse, and decide whether FareChance is a good fit.
Who is this opportunity suitable for?
Young people aged 18-25, not in education, employment, or training, who are ready to engage and grow over an 8-week period.

Education & skill required?
No previous experience or skills are required – just a willingness to turn up and get involved.

Who we are
FareChance is an inspiring, supportive and accessible programme that offers 18 to 25-year-olds a chance to gain meaningful work experience, learn practical warehouse skills and build self-esteem to embrace their full potential – in work, education, and in daily life. The programme, co-designed by young people, is delivered from our warehouse in Bedminster, South Bristol. It’s a busy, fully-functioning operation which is friendly, warm and welcoming and the perfect environment for FareChance participants to develop, learn and grow.
