Josh’s Journey into Retail

Josh was referred to WE Work for Everyone by his local job centre. He was keen to get a job in retail and worked closely with his Employment Navigator Demi from the South Glos team. They looked at a number of different areas of support such as job searching and applications, and interview preparation and coaching. They also talked about workplace reasonable adjustment to help Josh do his job.

Josh and Demi met regularly, and Josh showed real commitment to his job search. He actively applied for positions and attended lots of job interviews. Demi provided consistent support, especially after interviews to keep Josh motivated.

Josh’s hard work paid off when he was offered a job as a sales assistant at WHSmith – a role he thoroughly enjoys. Demi continues to provide in-work support, including helping with Access to Work. This helps ensure he has all the tools needed to thrive in his new position.

Josh speaks positively about WE Work and recommends it to others. He found it useful to have someone to help with finding jobs, assist with applications and interview skills.  Josh’s success story continues to evolve. He’s now looking to increase his hours at WHSmith and is even considering taking on additional work opportunities.

His journey shows how determination, combined with the right support, can lead to meaningful paid employment. Josh’s story is a great example of how WE Work for Everyone helps people achieve their employment goals.
