Introduction:
The 'How to Be a Chef' course, is for 16-25-year-olds not in full-time employment, education, or training. The course is free to attend and includes 12-weeks of interactive, fun, confidence-boosting cooking. It runs two days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays), starting April 23, 2025. What will I be doing?
The How To Be a Chef cookery courses offers a variety of specific cooking skills and experiences as well as the opportunity to develop a range of transferable skills.
Who is this opportunity suitable for?
The course is suitable for anyone NOT currently in education, training or employment, aged between 16 and 25 years.
What age is this suitable for?
16 - 18, 18 - 25
Who will be there?
Other young people interested in developing their skills for catering.
Start date and time
The next course starts on Wednesday 23rd April 2025. The course runs every Wednesday and Thursday, from 10am-4pm until Thursday 16th July

The Square Food Foundation has been teaching people to cook for 25 years, supporting individuals of all ages and abilities, including children, families accessing food banks, elderly adults at risk of loneliness, people with learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and young people not in education or employment. Their mission is to reduce hunger, improve health, and bring people together, while fostering life skills, confidence, and wellbeing in a safe, welcoming environment.
