Bristol WE Work participant Luke recently started his new paid job at Airhop Bristol with the support of his Employment Navigator Lucy. Read all about Luke’s experience below.

Thank you Luke for your great feedback!

“I found out about WWfE programme at a job fair at SBSA. The trip was arranged by my school. I was in my final year and was looking for a part-time job over summer. Me and Lucy had online sessions and in-person ones too, which fitted around my school times well. Lucy helped me find different jobs sites, supported me how to use them, created a CV, cover letter and gave me advice.

Since I started the programme, I have job searched independently, attended job fairs and went to job interviews.

A challenge was when I was applying to catering jobs but wasn’t getting any response, so I started to focus on customer service jobs to widen my opportunities. In November, I got a job offer at Airhop Bristol as a Court Monitor at Cribbs Causeway. I am finding it very good so far!

Since I finished the programme, I am more confident and am I’m looking forward to buying my family a meal and buying gig tickets when I get paid!

My next steps are starting catering BTEC and would like to work in catering in the future.

I’ve been recommending my college friends to go to WWfE if they want a job. My time on WWfE has been very good and has opened up my opportunities!”
