New Job, New Confidence – Toni’s Story

Meet Toni, who’s now part of the team at Cineworld after working with South Glos WE Work. She shares her journey to landing her dream cinema job in the video below.
Toni and her mum got in touch with the South Glos WE Work team in late 2023. They wanted help with Toni’s search for paid work and independent living. Her support continued as the programme moved into the WECA Levelling Up funding in 2024.
Michelle from the South Glos team helped Toni build her job-search skills. This included CV writing, cover letters and interview practice. Toni also received coaching for job applications and assessments. She also attended some community courses.
Toni is autistic and has dyscalculia and dyspraxia. She has also faced challenges with social anxiety and communication, but her determination shone through. She has found a customer-facing role that suits her well. Autonome is providing extra support with workplace adjustments and mentoring in her new job.
