Max’s Project Pilot Success Story
November 21, 2024
WE Work for Everyone is proud to highlight Project Pilot, a Supported Internships programme that has been underway since spring this year. Developed in partnership with WE Work (Bristol City Council), Sixteen Cooperative and NDTi, the programme engages young people aged 18 to 24 without an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and creates pathways to meaningful employment.
The nine-month programme combines classroom learning with supported work placements. Participants spend one day per week developing essential workplace skills with a tutor and four days gaining hands-on experience across three carefully selected work environments. The support doesn’t end with the placement—participants receive three months of job development support and an additional three to six months of in-work guidance via Sixteen Cooperative.
We are delighted to share Max’s success story which illustrates the positive impact supported internships have on young people’s lives. At a placement at Mollie’s in Bristol, Max discovered his talent for customer service. His positive performance has led to a permanent job offer.
Congrats to Max on his new paid job at Mollies!
