Our colleagues at 'My Community Bristol' have asked us to share some news about a project event taking place in May.
‘My Community Bristol’ is working across Horfield, Lockleaze, Ashley, Bishopston & Ashley Down to help make these areas an even better place for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives. Here is a short intro video about the project:
‘My Community Bristol’ has an Action Group of community members with and without a learning disability. They’ve identified having “more opportunities to make local connections by having more local, inclusive, and accessible, social opportunities and activities” and “more accessible information and improving information sharing” as two of their key priorities.
They’re planning a ‘My Community Celebration’ event on Saturday 20th May from 10:30am – 3pm at Horfield Methodist Church on Gloucester Road. This will be an inclusive community event for all ages which will bring together community members with and without a learning disability to celebrate all that is good in our local area. We’ll be showcasing local groups and activities, with an information stand area as well as offering 30-45 min taster sessions to give people an idea of what the activities are.
