People’s Voice Project Community Event: 24th April 6pm – 8pm at The Station

March 28, 2023

In 2021, money was put aside for a project led by people with a learning difficulty or disability. The People’s Voice Project has three Project Workers – Beth, R and Edwin, who are all WE Work for Everyone participants. They run a research project to talk to people with a learning difficulty or disability in Bristol.

Group of people sharing ideas with speech bubbles.

They speak to people in the community about setting up a group or organisation. This will be led by people with a learning difficulty or disability. They also talk to people about ideas for what this group should do.

Through an online survey, they asked questions about setting up a group or organisation. They also ran 7 focus groups to try to hear from as many people as possible.

The team created a video to talk about the findings of the research project. They want to show this video at a community event on 24th April 6pm – 8pm at The Station.

The event will bring the community together to meet and find out about the project. It will also give people a chance to speak up and share their thoughts. The project has a group  made up of community members who will hopefully be attending as well. The People’s Voice Project would like as many people to get involved as possible.

If you have any questions or access needs to attend the event then please contact megan.belcher@bristol.gov.uk.
