An Unexpected Career Path: Josh’s Story

Since joining WE Work for Everyone, Josh has made great progress. He completed training in Digital and Data ICT and now has a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Josh was previously working in finance, but through WE Work he secured a volunteering placement at Incredible Kids. Through this opportunity, he discovered that he connected really well with young people. This positive experience encouraged him to consider a career in teaching, something he had never thought about before.
Josh is also mentoring chess games in schools. These experiences have helped him build confidence, meet new people, and gain valuable experience supporting others. He has become more confident when talking to people and is better at saying no when he feels uncomfortable. Through travel training, Josh now feels confident to commute to schools on his own.
Josh has since secured a full-time Teaching Assistant role at a local high school.
Josh understands that finding a job can be challenging. He believes that WE Work can be very helpful because the programme provides support, guidance and opportunities to gain valuable experience.
