Together for SEND – free event for families and education staff
January 19, 2026
Bristol Parent Carers are holding their third annual Together for SEND event on Monday 16th March. This city‑wide day is supported by Bristol City Council. The event is free for families and offers practical training for education staff. It brings people together to share knowledge, ask questions and learn from different experiences of SEND.
The day is for anyone who supports a child or young person with SEND. It is also for people who are new to SEND and for professionals working in education. The aim is to give clear information, useful advice and space to connect with others.
The programme includes more than 30 talks and workshops. Topics include autism, masking, mental health, eating difficulties, parent carer wellbeing, school support, reasonable adjustments, and routes into work for young people after 16. There are also Q&A sessions and practical guidance for families and staff.
Over 50 exhibitors will be on site. These include SEND services, community groups and voluntary organisations. Interpreters will be available in Somali, Polish, Arabic and British Sign Language. Sensory bags will be provided for those who need them. Bus fare refunds are offered, and there is a free crèche for children under school age.
Tickets are free for families. Education staff can attend for £42, which includes breakfast, lunch and a networking session.
