Learning Disability Awareness Week: 15th-21st June

June 1, 2026

Learning Disability Awareness Week happens every June. In 2026, it is from 15 to 21 June. This week helps us think about inclusion in everyday life. It gives space for people with a learning disability to share their stories. When we listen and understand, we help make life fairer for everyone.

During the week, people and organisations take part. They share stories, run activities, learn together, and challenge unhelpful ideas. Learning Disability Awareness Week is about being seen and respected. To celebrate people for who they are. It also reminds us that inclusion should happen all year, not just in June.

In Bristol, SEND a Welcome will be running a programme of inclusive events and activities on Gloucester Road. Click here: Learning Disability Awareness Week
